Ray Kroc

From Gaslamp Ball Wiki - A Wiki for San Diego Padres Fans

Ray Kroc is most known for being the owner of McDonald's. However, in San Diego he is known as the man who bought the Padres and saved them from moving to Washington D.C in 1974. When he died before the 1984 season, the Padres put his initials RAK on their uniform and won the National League pennant for the first time in franchise history. His wife Joan Kroc took over ownership until selling the team in 1990.
