Jeff Moorad is the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Padres. He led the group of 13 new owners who purchased the team from John Moores. He is very secretive about who is the 13th owner. He is a former agent and former executive in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He was instrumental in the $30 million dollar 3 year signing of Eric Byrnes, who performed poorly afterward and was cut with 1 year and $11 million left. He is a very smart man and has learned to never do that again. Moorad has a soporific style of speaking, known to significantly drive up coffee consumption of anyone listening to him speak.
