Radio announcer Andy Masur was brought in by the San Diego Padres to replace Tim Flannery in 2007. Andy shares the play by play and color announcing with Jerry Coleman and Ted Leitner. Masur used to work for the Cubbies on WGN as the pre and post game announcer with light fill in duties. Like all new announcers, he was received with cool trepidation. However, Andy has won us over with his knowledge of the game and his good natured sense of humor. Masur pairs up well with both Coleman and Leitner. This is the last year of his contract and we hope he stays around. Andy is of short stature and often jokes about it.
So far hasn't shown any Cubbie-loving tendencies, but we're watching him carefully.
