Everth Cabrera is the current Padres shortstop, stolen from the Rockies organization via the rule 5 draft in 2009. Although he hadn't previously played above class A level ball, he had an impressive 2009 rookie campaign, stealing 25 bases and scoring 59 runs in 103 games.

On August 7, 2009, he hit a game-winning walk-off grand slam against the Mets.

He was honored as Nicaragua's Professional Sports Athlete of the Year in 2009.

He also causes jodes0405 to consistently wet her pants.

He was occasionally erroneously referred to as Efren by Dick Enberg early in the 2010 season, sparking a minor inside-joke fest. Enberg also coined the nickname Mt. Everth, possibly as an attempt to convince people that he actually knows Everth's first name.
